Hi! I’m Rayna.
I grew up homeschooled and I first fell in love with the world and my own body by exploring the beautiful coastlines and forests of mid-coast Maine. I have always been passionate about health and somatic healing. I turned to Rolfing® as a means to help my mind and body find harmony with one another and to heal from patterns of emotional disruption left over from childhood, and from physical limitations from years of work as a farmer and carpenter. After receiving Rolfing, I found access to a body free from pain, which left me with so much more energy to focus on the things that I actually wanted to spend my life working towards.
I have always been fascinated with the work of Gabor Mate and Bessel Van Der Kolk, authors of The Myth of Normal, and The Body Keeps the Score. These books delve into the intricate relationship between our physical and emotional well-being, exploring how past experiences can manifest in our bodies. Their work has greatly influenced my understanding of healing and my desire to offer an embodiment-based healing modality.
One of the most intriguing aspects of somatic healing for me is how our unique life stories are reflected in our movement and embodiment. We all have multiple relationships with ourselves, to each other, the land, our beliefs, and gravity. I am curious how we, personally and collectively, can move through the limitations we believe are inherent to our current embodiment and embrace a more liberated way of being. I believe that everything is interconnected and to heal ourselves is the beginning of healing the world. We cannot separate ourselves from the natural world and must treat our own bodies as beautiful ecosystems that need gentle care too.
I am a 2025 graduate of the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute in Boulder, Colorado.
